MANY VOICES

DÜNYA will be joining Boston’s internationally acclaimed award winning choir, Blue Heron. The concerts will feature European music before 1600 along with music from 20th century as well as Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol’s choral composition “Devran”, a polyphonic work that marries Sufi Muslim texts, Renaissance counterpoint, and elements of traditional Ottoman/Turkish music. The set which DÜNYA will perform aims to demonstrate the Turkish music influences found in “Devran”.
